One will receive a Scor-pal scoring tool and the other will receive an assortment of  great GlueArts products. You have until 8am CDT on Monday to leave comments. We will announce the winners later that day both here and on the Scor-pal Fan Page.

Now for the sweet treat box created by designer Virginia Nebel

Supplies: Scor-pal, Glue Arts, American Crafts pattern paper, Sizzix diecut

Here is a fun treat box to make with the Scor-pal and some Glue Arts adhesive.  Other supplies needed is a steel rule diecut and a 4 x 12 inch paper piece.

Position the paper so that the full length runs across the Scor-pal.  Score at 6 inches.

Turn the paper and make a little notch at the 2 inch mark, repeat on the opposite end.

Line up the notch and the centre score and score a line connecting the two points.

Repeat on for all sides.  You should end up with a diamond shape scored out.

Fold along the diagonal lines.  Apply the Glue Arts Extreme Tac adhesive squares on the flaps, fold up securing the box together.

You have just finished making a little treat box.  Now it’s time for some fun embellishments.

Make 3D shaped tags by cutting the Glue Arts Raisen through your diecut.  Repeat same diecuts on pattern paper.

Peel off the tape backing on one side, position some twine on and cover with paper diecut on both sides.  Tie through the top of the treat box.

Here is another peek at what the final project looks like:

Thanks so much for joining us this week! We will be back on Monday to announce the winner of this week's prizes!

A Black Cat Treat Box and a Haunted House Card

Day Four of our special Scor-pal/GlueArts week and we have some more fun projects lined up for you!
We will be giving away some great Scor-pal and GlueArts prizes so be sure and leave a comment each day this week! There will be two winners randomly selected from all comments throughout the week. One will receive a Scor-pal scoring tool and the other will receive an assortment of  great GlueArts products. You have until 8am CDT on Monday to leave comments. Our first project today is a black cat treat box from designer Gini Cagle.  Gina used the Square Treat Box tutorial from from the Scor-pal website and added a cat rosette that was inspired by a home decor project from Martha Stewart.

Scor-pal scoring tool; Scor-tape; Glue Arts ExtremeTac Adhesive Squares; Glue Arts U Cut It Adhesive Foam; Bazzill Cardstock; Basic Grey Patterned Paper; Ribbon, Metallic Thread

To make the cat rosette, cut 2 pieces of black card stock, 1.5" x 12". Score every half an inch and pleat fold.

Attach the two strips together with Scor-tape to form a circle. Press the circle down in the center to form a rosette, and glue in place.

Add pieces of card stock to decorate the face. Apply Extreme Tac to glue the eyes, ears and mouth of the cat. Cut a small piece of U Cut It Foam, and fill in the hole in the center of the rosette. Color orange with a copic marker.

Make a loop of metallic thread, and tie a knot in the center. Clip the ends to make whiskers. Place this on the UCutIt Foam. Glue the nose over the top with the Extreme Tac.

Complete the Square Treat Box, following the tutorial, and add the Scaredy-Cat to the top of the box.

Here are a few more views of this fun project:

Our next project for the day is a Haunted House card by designer Steph Ackerman

Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned paper: Making Memories; Scoring Tool: Scor-Pal; Glue: GlueArts U Cut It Foam; Die: Sizzix Haunted House; Glitter, Foil, Ink: Clearsnap; Ribbon: Making Memories; Twine: The Twinery; Tag: Miss Elizabeth

Directions:
Die cut the Haunted House using a Sizzix die and the UCutIt Foam (save the little pieces for use on another project).

Gently pulling up the top layer, add Charcoal Glitter to the smoke and Silver Lining Glitter to the roofs.

Now add Clearsnap's Lucky Penny Foil to the remainder of the house.

In some spots, the Foil pulled away parts of the Foam, so I inked over those spots with Clearsnap's Black Mix'd Media Inx for a grungy look.

Die cut the "moon" from orange cardstock and score every 1/4".
Ink the embossed areas with Black Mix'd Media Inx.

Cut a 1" strip of cardstock to fit across the card front, then score along the top and bottom edges.

Add a metal tag with ribbon and twine using Glue Arts Adhesive Squares under the metal tag

Thanks for stopping by today! We will be back tomorrow to wrap up the week and share our final project. See you then!

A Pumpkin with a Sweet Treat and A Shaker Giftbox That Shines

Day Three of Glue Arts week and we have two more fun projects to share!!

Now for today's designs!

First off is our Pumpkin Card by designer Lisa Andrews that holds a sweet treat inside:

Double Dots paper: Bo Bunny; UCutIt foam:GlueArts; Scor-pal scoring tool and Scor-Tape

Step 1: Cut six ovals (three for each side) from Double Dots paper, I used Creative Memories cutting system, 3 ½” x 5” oval using the red blade.

Step 2:  Adhere two of the ovals with Scor-Tape, as shown, this is the back of your card

Step 3:  Repeat for the front of the card, expect use Glue Arts foam sheet to attach the middle oval

Step 4:  Using the back piece, line the bottom of the pumpkin up with the left gutter and score at 3 ½”

Step 5: for candy pocket, use a 3 x 2 piece of paper and score ½” and ¼” on three sides, snip off the corners and fold to create a pocket.  Adhere it to the inside of the card with Scor-Tape.

Step 6:  Using brown cardstock freehand a stem and score every ¼”, attach the stem in between the front and back pumpkin.   Attach front of card on the back using Scor-Tape.   Decorate as you please!  I used the Heartswirl Doohickey die from Magnolia for the tendrils.

Here is a peek at the inside of the card:

And a side view of how it stands open:

Thanks, Lisa!

Our next project is a Shaker Gift box with lots of sparkle brought to you by designer Tami Mayberry:

Supplies: Card stock: Bazzill Prismatics, Patterns: Bo Bunny Press (lid/stars), Bella Blvd (box sides); Dies: Spellbinders Paper Arts; U Cut if Foam:GlueArts; Scor-pal scoring tool; Designer Adhesives Foil:Clearsnap; Glitter and Sparkle Fibers: Clearsnap; Gems: Want2Scrap; clear acetate
For this box I began with the One Cupcake Box tutorial by Scor-pal Designer Kittie Franken.

When making the base of the box I skipped the part of step 3 of adding an opening and instead added a shaker style lid with the aid of GlueArts UCutIt foam, double sided foam adhesive.

After step 6 of the tutorial we begin the process of creating the shaker lid.
Begin by cutting a foam square roughly the size of your lid/base (in this case 4x4). Then cut another square from the center of the previous square. I used Spellbinders dies for both steps.

Once you have your frame cut, place it on the scored panel to be used for the lid positioning within the center scores and use a pencil to trace the opening. Cut opening using die or craft knife. Fold sides of lid as directed in original tutorial.

If your foam is larger than lid (as shown below) simply trim to fit. Once you have a nice fit, cut two clear square slightly smaller than foam frame. I used the backing from a clear stamp set but you can use recycled packaging, acetate, transparencies or any other clear material. Adhere one square to the frame, fill with glitter or other filler and cover with second clear piece. (Sample uses dilver glitter and sparkle fibers form Clearsnap) Adhere finished shaker to inside of lid and decorate finished box as desired.

I used the piece of foam that I cut from the center of the frame along with Design Adhesives Foil from Clearsnap to create shiny 3D stars. I used my Spellbinders dies to cut a star from the UCutIt foam and then simply peeled the backing off of one side, placed the foil on and peeled off leaving a sparkle finish.

Here are some more peeks of the final result:

Thanks for stopping by once again.
We will see you tomorrow with more projects!

An Elegant Box in a Bag set and a Cheerful Thanks

Day Two of GlueArts Week here on the Scor-pal blog and we have not one but two great projects to share.

We be giving away some great Scor-pal and GlueArts prizes so be sure and leave a comment each day this week! There will be two winners randomly selected from all comments throughout the week. One will receive a Scor-pal scoring tool and the other will receive an assortment of  great GlueArts products. You have until 8am CDT on Monday to leave comments. We will announce the winners later that day both here and on the Scor-pal Fan Page.

Once you are finished here be sure and stop by and visits the GlueArts blog as to see what they are up to as well. Also, don't forgot to visit the GlueArts fan page and, of course, stop by the Scor-pal Fan page.  We have some great prize giveaways, contests, ideas and more there as well.

First up is the Elegant Bag in a Box set from designer Katie Tate.
Keep reading to find out how she created this great project.

Papers - Countryside Villa by The Paper Studio; Scoring Tool - Scor-Pal; Daisy Punch - Martha Stewart; Butterfly - Large Monarch by Martha Stewart; Border Punch - Martha Stewart; Glitter - German Glass Fine in Blush; Sentiment - Starfish and Dreams Inspirational Talk; Pearls - Bridal Dept; Ribbon - Michaels

I decided to make another card and box set and this time used the template called Box In A Bag found at Split Coast Stampers.

It starts very simply with a square of cardstock 4 1/2" by 4 1/2".
You score at 1" on all 4 sides and then score the diagonal from the outer corner to where the 1" score lines meet. Add tape to the squares so you can attach the form the base of the box. The box corners are then burnished to form a neat tight edge.

You then add the patterned paper as in the tutorial to form the sides of the box. Then add a reinforced tab to the top to form the ribbon closure.

With the "Raisens" I decided to try and see if I could use them to add glitter to my flowers. I love the look of German Glass Glitter but as it is heavier than regular synthetic glitter it needs a good form of adhesive.

I added the "Raisen" to the center and shaped it slightly to make it more circular.
When it is wet is is difficult so I carried on and hoped for the best!

I poured on the glitter and pressed it down with my finger. You must be carefully with this product as it is made from real glass.

I shook off the excess glitter and continued shaping the glittered "Raisen" with both my fingers and an exacto knife.

They came out pretty good and I used more "Raisens" underneath to glue them to the box.

Here is a close up of the final results

For the card I decided to go with a simple Z style fold.
The cardstock measures 12" by 6" and you score at 3" and 6" along the long side.

Burnish the folds, one in one direction, the second in the other forming a Z shape card with a large base of 6" by 6".

Decorate each panel with designer paper.

For the card decoration I used butterflies on flowers and I adhered them to the card using the Extreme Tac Adhesive Squares.

Here is what they look like when added:

The inside of the card can now be decorated as desired

Our next project is a Cheerful Thanks created by designer Diane Zechman.

This week the Scor-Pal Team is crafting with Glue Arts products and today I'm sharing my project with you. Yes, I know we are way past spring and blooming trees, but I couldn't help but use some of these fun Jillibean Soup papers again!
stamps- SU! Happy Harmony (sentiment); paper- Jillibean Soup- Blossom Soup, white, SU! Marigold and Old Olive; ink- SU! Cherry Cobbler; accessories- Scor-Pal, PTI Cloud die, MFT Teardrop Tree die, U Cut It foam, Raisen's adhesive squares, Flower Soft- Spring and Polar White, SU! Oval punches.

I used the Glue Arts U Cut It 3D adhesive foam to diecut the top of the tree and the cloud. I literally said "Wow!" when the foam popped right out! It is so cool how easily the dies cut so cleanly through the foam...fun!

The foam has adhesive on both sides so it's super easy to cover one side with glitter, etc. I decided to use some of my long-neglected Flower Soft on the diecuts. I used Spring on the treetop and Polar White to make a fluffy white cloud. I also used one of the Raisen's adhesive squares to attach the sentiment so it pops slightly off the cardfront.

Below you can see how I used my Scor-Pal to create 1" grid lines on the white layer. These made it super easy to place the patterned papers (7/8" squares) just where I wanted them. It also gives the card a little more texture.

You know I love my Scor-Pal and the Glue Arts products get 2 thumbs up. U Cut It foam = fun stuff!

Thanks for stopping by!
We will be back tomorrow with 2 more projects!
